McDonald's - TVC Collection
(Created during my time at TBWA\Thailand, Bangkok)
When I was working on McDonald's, one of the key challenges was finding a way to add something new to the communication as the team often had to work on products or promotions that have been advertised many times before.
Here are some of the commercials I have created for McDonald's.
Emperor Chicken Burger
Japanese themed products often fall back to the tradition cliches like samurais or ninjas. We decided to bring in a more modern Japanese aesthetic by referencing TeamLab. The overlaying aesthetic was also chosen as a subtle nod to the burger's many overlaying flavors.
Cheesy Bacon Burger
Thai McDonald's commercials are often more 'sanitized' as the clients prefer the product to always look picture-perfect even while it is being consumed. However, when it comes to cheese, one can't really properly convey the indulgence while holding yourself back. We convinced the clients that messiness can still be beautiful and fashionable in its own way, hence, the messier-than-usual commercial.
McSaver 1+1
As a promotion campaign, McSaver always sticks to a short 15 sec format. We, however, feel that the short format doesn't always best convey the fun part of the promotion which is the numerous combination. We use raps as the style of the music allows for a back-and-forth quick interaction between the customer and the employee as well as the ease of having many characters jam in with their own unique orders.
Aside from the long form version, the video was edited into three shorter formats.
